In this post, I will share my organic chemistry resource for the first semester of organic chemistry. 

In this post, we are going to be making natural micellar water. I got this idea from the blog Point of Interest run by Susan (Link). Just like her, I do not like caprylyl/capryl glucoside very much as it is very sticky. However, she mentioned that at 2% and below, you can avoid the stickiness and create a micellar water. So I know that I wanted to try it out.

I got a question over on Instagram asking." Is there anything you wish hair stylists knew about hair care products? " I thought that this was a great question. I wanted to answer it on more detail so I thought a full blog post would be appropriate. the audience for this post will be towards stylists but the information can be used for any consumer wanting to know more about their hair care products.

Why are some fragrances really hard to solubilize?

I thought that I could make an easier face mask with AHA fruit acids. The fruit acids are a lot easier to formulate with then glycolic acid. Still as a disclaimer, formulating with acids is not for beginners. This requires that you have good knowledge on acids and bases, a pH meter, and know how to handle them safely. With any acid, it increases your sun sensitivity. So be sure to at least wear sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher for two weeks after use. You should be wearing sunscreen year round, but I needed to make that disclaimer.
