The difference between the different cationic Emulsifiers
I used to be confused by the difference of BTMS-50 and BTMS-25. In this post, I am going to clarify the differences between them. This is going to be a quick post.
Salicylic Acid Shampoo
In this post, I am going to share my salicylic acid shampoo with you. This will be an advanced formulation, as we are working with salicylic acid. I got a salicylic acid (SA) stock solution from Making Cosmetics. They use a surfactant to dissolve the SA. I thought it would be great to make a salicylic acid shampoo. SA is one of the few ingredients that can work in wash-off products. (source) Since the pH will be low, we need to keep that in mind when making our formulation decisions.
Ingredients Used in Hair Care: The Basics
In this post, we will talk about the ingredients used in haircare formulations. I will focus on the basic ingredients and more in generalities or this post could be infinite. I want to give you the basics so that you can the tools to search on your own.
Basic Body Scrub Formulation
In this post, I will share a basic body scrub. It is only going to be three ingredients. I made this while I was making two other formulations. I was really in need of a body scrub. Let's look at the formulation.
Hair Types
In this post, we are going to discuss different hair types. The extended Andre Walker system identifies four main hair types (straight, wavy, curly, and coily) with three subtypes for each, for a total of 12 natural hair types.
Post Shave Gel
Every time I shave my face, I get acne the next day. No matter what I do. So in this post, I am going to be sharing with you my post-shave gel formulation. Even if you do not shave, you can use this as a soothing gel for any skin irritation. In fact, this is great for sunburns. Both my dad and brother got sunburns and this helped their skin so much.
Dry Heel Salve
I have got really dry heels from wearing sandals and not really moisturizing my feel. I have been using a 20% urea cream and I have noticed a difference but it is such a small tube. So I set out to make my own version.
Testing my liquid Concealer + Simple Makeup Look
In this video post, I am going to share the first test of my liquid concealer. This formula was not really bad. I liked some aspects of it, but there is a lot to improve in terms of wear and stability.
