Creating Buffers for Cosmetic Formulations
I got an inquiry on how to create buffers over on Instagram. I would classify this as an advanced chemistry topic. Buffers are something I learned about in my general chemistry 1B; the second semester of general chemistry. What I thought would be simple post turned out to be way more complex. I actually needed to learn more chemistry to know what actually happens.
Aloe Vera Naturally Compliant Body Lotion (Free Formula)
For summer skincare the first ingredients that I think of is aloe vera. I wanted to make a whole lotion based off of aloe vera. My favorite emulsifier for body lotions is Ritamulse SCG (Glyceryl Stearate (and) Cetearyl Alcohol (and) Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate). It creamy lovely emulsions with great body and are quite moisturizing.
How To Distill Lavender Hydrosol
In this post, I will detail how to distill lavender hydrosol at home. Making your own lavender hydrosol requires a chemistry technique called distillation. Distillation is a separation technique quite commonly used in organic chemistry labs.
Foot Ointment
This post I shared on Instagram, but wanted to make a formal post here. Your dry cracked feet will thank you later.
